Summer is my hand quilting season. I take my PVC quilting loon on the front balcony and I can quilt for hours listening to music. I live on a quiet street at the corner of a very busy street. The music makes me forget the traffic noise.

I can only make quilts and do professional quilting April 16 to Dec 31. (I do tax returns). Since April 16 I have made 6 quilts and quilted them and have quilted 5 quilts for customers. I still have 2 customer quilts and 1 quilt of my own to quilt. I am half way finished piecing one quilt and have 3 cut and ready.

I sew and quilt more in the summer because our days are 96 and 97 degrees, sometimes hotter. We tend to go for walks and do more in the mild winter, spring and fall. My sewing room is in the basement, nice and cool with big windows. Messy but comfortable, a good place to spend these hot days.

I sew and quilt more in the summer, i live near Myrtle Beach and there is too much traffic for me to do a lot of running and it is just toooooooooo dang hot during the day to be outside unless at the ocean or near a pool.

Winter in Florida is cleanup time and getting ready to plant veggies in Feb. Spring is verrrryyyy busy sine I'm a master gardener. The garden clubs and condos want speakers. Summer is too hot to do anything but enjoy the air-conditioning and sew.

I have breathing issues so I can not be outside during hot days. Fortunately my house has A/C and the basement is nice and cool and a great place to sew and get out of the heat!

I hate the heat outdoors so it makes no difference to me. I turn the AC up and go at it.
