Good idea. No I do not save salvages. I have not seen anything I like made from them.

Saving them to make a back pack bag for a child. It looks good. The only thing is I don't thnk I take enough of the actual fabric, always trying to make the most of what I have.

I saw a beautiful large quilt made entirely of selvages at a quilt show and it was absolutely gorgeous. Not something that I would take the time to do, but it just shows how creative quilters are!

If the selvage doesn't have white, I cut it smaller, but in any case I never cut much more than an inch.

I save them for some great project I'm going to do one day... I really love the dots.

Even if you don't want to use yours, you should save them. When you get a pile of them, people will buy them from you.

I save them... I sent one stash to a nice lady in Canada... am still saving them for anyone who wants them... just PM me with address and I will send them out... I figure I am paying forward for those who were so kind to send me patriotic fabric for the postcards to go to the military. Just be first to PM me and what I have is yours.

I tie up my tomato plants with them and flowers. I have also used them as a "ribbon" for gifts that I wrap in FQ's for my quilty friends.

I am new to quilting and the terms involved but I assume that by selvages, you refer to the little scrap pieces left from trimming fabric? I have a huge collection of it LOL what I dont use in applicae work is use as stuffing in my dog pillow beds and stuffed animals. I am currently getting excited to start stitching my very first quilt. My new brother sewing machine is still in the box and i have yet to learn how to thread bobbins and so forth. I have done hand sewn quilts with my Amish family back in my younger years but never done a machine quilt all from scratch. I have been cutting blocks and pattern sections from fabric for a lng time and keep every little useable size scrap in similar color pattern bags.
