You know what?, I save them along with all my other not-usable scraps and they go into a bag to use for filling for a dog bed. Our local animal shelter is always in need of more dog beds, so most of the members of our Guild saves to make them. I have so many quilts I want to make that I don't see putting my time and energy into making something out of the selveges. Just my opinion.

I have been cutting mine to be a total of 1.5". That gives me plenty for stitching. I have yet to be short of fabric for any project I have purchased fabric for. PM me and I will buy them from you. Don't throw them away. Just cut them at least 10"long and 1.5" wide. I just use the side with the wording and or dots on it.

I started saving them in order to give them away. Just mailed a bunch to a lady from here.

i have cut miles n miles of fabric, there is no way, not EVEN for a cute bag that i would save them, they are trouble!

Not usually. I sometimes use them to make a bow on a quilt or to tie things together so it looks nice. Other than that, no, I do not keep selvedges.

I love using them. I learned from experience that cutting them 1 1/4 inches works well for me. That doesn't cut too much off the fabric but still gives you a usable piece. Here is a pic of the sweatshirt jacket I made and I have all the blocks done for a quilt. Just haven't gotten it quilted yet as I plan to do it QAYG. Never did before until I saw the Texas Lone Star (??) made out of salvages. I only have a few that I've tossed into my crumbs bag, but I'm sure the number will grow as I purchase new fabrics.
