After I went away to start dinner, I also remembered that a solid spool on a piece of selvage makes a good toy to enjoy with a yooung cat.

I am saving mine. I have another bag full of the selvages.
I gave a gallon bag full to a friend who is making a jacket!

Goes in scraps... Those that are too small to use otherwise (all scraps) are used to stuff toys

I am trying to save up enough, I have had quite a few mailed to me by board members. I want to make a tote for a friend, and I can't make her one without one for myself.

Please don't throw your selvages away! I will pay postage for them, just pm me anytime. Remember, one woman's trash is another's treasure!

A member in our guild made a mug rug from selvedges other members had saved for her - it was raw edge & I can see doing that. But to slice off enough fabric so that it is usable in a quilt, like about 2" on a wide selvedge.... at $18/meter/Cdn... unless I had a really special project planned, I don't think I could do it.

Same here...they aren't long enough to do anything with.
