So the other day I saw a pattern in a quilting magazine for a bag made entirely out of selvages. Granted, it was a cute bag ... But the only thing I could think when I saw it was, "Wait, you mean I'm supposed to save the selvages?"

Do any of you save selvages, and if so what use do you get out of them besides the occasional cute pattern that shows up in a magazine?

yes, I save mine, probably since I saw the pattern for the bag, a couple of years ago. I recently made some pin cushions out of them. Still have alot, and still saving them.

Nope they go in the trash, i've seen some different things made with them but I dont find them appealing. However I do like the fact that these gals are using up ALL of the fabric, and think that its a great idea.

Until I saw some items on the board here, I have been tossing them. I have a pile that I have not gone through yet. Not sure if I will save the or not. The board members are starting to sway my mind on them and thinking that something made with them would be kind of fun.

If you were in Macy's and saw a purse or tote made from selvages, would you really buy it? And if you wouldn't buy it at Macy's, why spend the expensive time to make it?
