    I stitch around the edge, apply the binding around the front, then trim, and finish binding. It saves me from making stupid mistakes.

    I do. I find it makes it easier when I sew on the binding.

    I do not stitch around the edge but I remove the basting pins on the outside as I attach the binding. :)

    I also apply the binding the trim edges to fit into the binding so it is full. I don't stitch around the edge first.

    I do because I find that it helps to stop those tucks developing. Also helps with fraying (well I find it does)

    Yes, I stitch around the edges in a long basteing stitch, keeps all together.
