cut that piece of fabric you bought just because it was so pretty you just had to have it?

I have loads of pieces I've bought but think they are just too pretty to whack into. I also have loads of pieces I'll whack.....one of these days.

Either way, doesn't stop me from buying as the budget allows.

Since I generally buy what I really love, I have a lot of "special" fabric...yes, it's hard to cut into it!!!!But the time comes when you are brave enough to make that first cut!! It's very liberating...

Yes. When the right pattern reveals itself, it is easy to cut that perfect fabric because it will be "perfect" for that pattern.

I agree. Sometimes I buy fabric that yells to me, "TAKE ME HOME" and have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Then I get a magazine or see a picture of a quilt and think, "OH, I've got the perfect fabric for that." Now, if I can just remember where I put it. . . . . . . :D :D :D I'd much rather do that than not buy it, see the pattern and the fabric be gone.

I have about 150 yards of vintage silk from India, used to make saris. Some I know, just from the quality of the fabric and the amount of 24K gold in the fabric that they were wedding dresses. I cannot cut those. The rest I cut into clothing and scarfs!

I have a few that I keep saying "not yet". I think I love looking at them too much to use!

I have some from over a year ago, I just had to have, and just can't seem to cut them.

That funny thing is those loved fabric never get used.

And all the unloved fabrics are already part of quilt.
