I have a receptacle for thread clippings, but somehow the thread still ends up all over me and the floor. :(

I come out of my sewing room with thread snips all over me. I try to get the big pieces into a plastic cup that I keep next to my machine.

I make no conscious effort to just "throw them away" like Elinor Burns but some of my trash grows feet and walks off on its own. Have used everything from coffee filters to waste paper containers and nothing seems to contain them completely and permanently. Maybe I should just get some clear glass Christmas balls and put thread clippings in some and snippets in others. Then I would just need to corrall the paper trash.

I think my trash can repels thread. Because of that, I pin a piece of batting to my shirt and when I clip the threads, stick them to the batting. Works good for everything but shiny poly threads such as embroidery thread. A quick way to clean up the threads that land on the floor is with a new toilet bowl brush. My Mom keeps a dust mop next to her machine.

Well, I aim for the trash (sort of. generally) but miss more often than hit.

I toss on the floor because no matter how careful I am, some of them end up on the floor anyway. When I clean the floor, I feel better if I clean up lots.

I toss most into a garbage bin I keep by my sewing table...but I do a LOT of sewing so it fills up FAST. So, you may catch me now and then clipping at my quilt and tossing a thread on the floor. I sweep daily so, oh well! I've got more important things in life to do than worrying about being clean!!! LOL* Like sew!

I tend to miss the waste basket so mine are all over the floor.
