    Thank you everyone for your great input. Mattress pads...I had never thought of them, but should work pretty good.

    I use a lot of old worn out sweat shirts cut into 6 " squares for community quilt as you go quilts. I have never kept any of these quilts to see how they last but feel warm and comfty when they are washed and sent on.

    There are advantages of cleaning and organizing a sewing room. I found some material that feels and looks like the"flannel" sheets. So I think that would work great for my 3 "rough" tops.

    I just got king sized batting at Joann's for half price it was $12 for meduim loft. Not too bad if it's on sale. If that is too much I would use an old blanket. Ask family and friends you will be surprised at what you will get. Also check at Goodwill.

    That is a good hint Amma to use towels and then can convert into potholders!
