I've made a number of them. Generally don't use the suggested fabrics.

I have used the free pattterns from the maufactures web sites. Rarely do I use the suggested fabrics. I may follow the theme of the fabric .. if they are showing a batik ... I will make it in batik partially because I really like batiks.
I have found that trying to duplicate the fabrics from a manufactures pattern can be down right frustrating .... often one seller will not carry all of the group shown( or is sold out of one or two). So I don't even think about duplicating the fabrics shown anymore.

I have printed off many many freebies. Wish I had time to make all of them.

I've used some, and saved a hundred others that I haven't used. I haven't used their fabric though. Most times I like the pattern, but not the prints.

I keep a PDF folder on my computer. When I find a pattern I like I add it to my folder.

Yes. The internet has been a major change for quilting as for so many other parts of our lives.

There are wonderful patterns on most of the fabric mfr sites. I especially like P&B. They have a big archive. Moda has neat tools for color matching and design on their website too.

I'll have to take a look at Moda's site again. Once upon a time I stumbled across some "tools" there... but didn't go back soon enough and... forgot how to find them... ??

Yes, I made a pillowcase for a standard size pillow form from Janome's website. Loved the pattern and it came out great.

Edit, just realized the question is whether a pattern from a fabric manufacturer's site was used. Janome doesn't qualify here, but I still loved the pillowcase pattern!
