Does anyone use old sheets for charity quilts..I know Project Linus is very picky but how about other uses? I have been given some children's flannel sheets and want to use them for the backs of the quilts I give to police and fire departments...

I am a chapter coordinator for Project Linus and we use old sheets. So long as the sheet is clean, smoke-free and no holes, we use them. If there are holes, we use them for the weighted blankets. We have even used good, clean mattress pads for batting, too. It works and works well.

They MUST look nearly new. Then, yes.

I prefer to buy new sheet on sale for donated quilts. I use the old ones for projects like pot holders, etc.

Yes, I have. Quilts for Kids wants new only, but our local quilt outreach uses clean sheets.
