Walmart carries the small vacuum adapter. It's a lot cheaper than the ones from the LQS.

I use pressurized air cans. You can buy them at Staples or Office depot. They have a long skinny tube that attaches to the spray nozzle and that allows you to get into all the nooks and crankies of your sewing machine. It's the same can that you would buy to clean the dust and lint from your computer...

I do the same thing, I use a straw in my small hand held vac. works great.

I, too, use the micro vacuum attachment connected to my Hoover Windtunnel which always stays behind my sewing chair. If I have only a small amount of lint, I use one of the brushes from Estee Lauder make-up kits. I save these brushes for cleaning my machines only. They are great! The large brushes are good for over all cleaning and the smallest brush is perfect for cleaning the bobbin holder.

If any of you own the 1500 then you understand about trying to get the lint out from under the machine itself. It goes WAY back and is nearly impossible to reach. I hope the attachment I ordered works.

There are kits that have small attachments for your regular vac hose. They sell them at Nancy's Notions & Clothilde, are $10.00 but worth every penny to get lint & thread dust from your sew machines. Please do not use canned air it pushes lint so far into your machine . Then to the repair shop the machine goes.

My husband is a computer geek so I use his spray can of compressed air. Works great.

Every time I change my bobbin I brush out the bobbin area with brush that I've had for years. It loosens the lint and picks up a lot of it. Then I use a vacuum that is actually made to vacuum computers which picks up any small pieces of lint that get missed by the brush or flick off the brush as I'm cleaning away. This system works really well, and I never fail to do it since the machine works so much better when it is clean. I have read that it is not good to use canned air to remove lint from the sewing machine, because it can blow lint even further into the machine and cause a lot of trouble. And I can understand how that could happen since the air comes out of those cans with a lot of pressure.
