So what I am hearing everyone say is you want multiple sizes in the pattern. Do you want directions for each size? Or do you want one size say lap/full size written with changes for each size after the written pattern or during each step. I am trying to visualize the way to go about this without having it end up too confusing! Suggestions please! Luann

"You might look at some multiple size knitting or crochet patterns for clues on this."
I understand the knitting patterns well. I am not sure that it would work in quilt pattern writing esp. if it is like a barn raising style or applique and you need more instructions for the add on or other sizes. I am thinking hard on this as I have to increase my business with more interesting patterns. Thanks for the input. It really does help! Luann

More information is always good! Many have mentioned the price of patterns--what about the price of fabric??? A miscalculation could be pretty expensive! I love working with jelly rolls--it would be wonderful to see directions for making these quilts in different sizes. Seems like even those patterns that do have extra sizes only go up to queen sized, never king. If I wanted to do the math myself I'd just creat the pattern in EQ and get some pretty good estimates on fabric--if I'm paying for a pattern, it should include multiple sizes!

I prefer to buy patterns that have the various sizes. I may not want to make the quilt the size the designer has chosen and I don't like having to do the math to figure out the yardage. I also like being told how many extra blocks I need to make -- how many extra hst's I need to make, etc. We pay good money for the books -- they really need to include a variety of sizes.
