It's not in the soap it's a product put out by Shout and is on the laundry aisle. Color Catchers are small sheets and come in a box. They work great.

I never wash my quilts when finished either! I pre-wash all fabrics; I pre-wash the batting as all my quilts are photo quilts and I don't want any shrinkage; I cover the quilt with a sheet when not working on it; I have no pets around so no stray hairs on it; I, too, like the look of new fabric!

I always wash the finished quilt. Love how they come out of the dryer.

I have always washed mine in cold water only. Since so many of our laundry products are designed for cleaning in cold water I have found that they work great in cold water for the quilts. I also dry in the dryer just because I have no outside available space I don't prewash all my fabrics either so have found my colors stay true this way.

Yes, the fur baby hair seems to collect on the quilt. You never know, I might have cooked fish the night before. If I'm giving it away I would rather keep my smells and textures at home, with me, where they belong. ;)

I do not pre-wash, and I don't wash when the quilt is done. I do not have pets, don't smoke and try to be as clean as possible when handling the quilts. If they have been washed, then to me, they are not new.
