My DH wants to retire soon and I've told him many times over that he has to have an interest in something before he retires. I've offered for him to come into my sewing room and help me, but to this date he's not budging out of his chair.

My husband does not quilt, but he is very crafty & it wouldn't surprise me if someday he did. He did sew a pillow in high school so he understands the basics. I came home from somewhere once & he had been at my machine trying to make some type of bag to pipe mortar or grout or something! We decided a heavy plastic bag would work better!

Yes my husband has used my machines several times if a seam came out or something when I was not at home. I will get him to help one day. He is like some of the other DH's, he will help if I holler "HELP"

Mine is a very talented carpenter and VERY busy with his job. For now I don't think he has time. He has his own hobbies but he appreciates quilting very much and understands the need for a good stash! I'm so lucky!!! :-)

My husband is a true fan of my quilting. He does not quilt but he is a fantastic sewer. He makes all his own hunting clothes and last year made a full sized hunting blind. He has lots of patience and is very precise when he sews. (He is also a great cook!)

okay okay, i know that sounds harsh..but if HE quilted then HE would understand the need for so much fabric..it was my work and he still whined..
my replacement beau has no interest at all in all that girlie stuff, but at least he doesn't comment at all, just toally accepts my need for creative expression..that i can live with..
tho another set of hands would be a help..hmmm

Not married but if I was .. I think he would have to start quilting if he ever wanted to spend time with me. But then again ... there might be issues about who's stash is who's. Not sure if I could tolerate a raid on my stash.

No he doesn't and I doubt he would. And even if he tried I might break his pedal leg!
As much as I love him he has enough expensive hobbies, golf, guns, archery. We couldn't afford for him to be a quilter AND a golfer and all the other things he likes to be. You see he likes the $$$$$ fabric.
Furthermore, I need something that I do!!!! and quilting is it. We have things that we do as a couple, and he has things he does. Quilting is the only thing that is MINE.
I know I am selfish!

My brother-in-law has grown quite knowledgeable over the years. His wife is a Prolific quilter. She's amazing, actually. Anyway, he loves tagging along with her to quilt shops & shows, and enjoys showing off his prowess in identifying quilts, blocks, and styles. I believe that when he retires, he will take up quilting.
My husband? not so much. lol... I would love it if he did, but then I'd have to take up golf. not gonna happen.
