My whole bedroom is in tones of blue, so if it has blue in it, it will match. I didn't start out like that, it just grew "like topsy", Oh, I like this, oh, this will look nice, haunting thrift shops and yard sales. But quilts I make for others I do according to what they ask for. some are matching, others are not. My sister who lives several hours away went to JoAnn's website and chose her own fabric and had it shipped to me. So, it's what they want, I'm easy.

Give the quilts to people who are happy to receive the quilt regardless of the colour. If I liked it, I would change the colours in the room to accommodate.

Absolutely NOT! Quilts should be appreciated for their individual beauty, not because they match the room. Just my opinion.

My bedroom all matches. Cranberry sheers, cranberry bedspread and large printed cranberry, pink, white, etc. Roses on drapes that die back.

Everyone that sees it, loves it.

    NO
But then agian when I redid my bedroom I did it in beige/taupe so that any quilt would go and add alll the color I need.
I would venture to. say that it is a personal decision.
My sister redid her bedroom to match the quilt I gave her, LOL.

Nope, so not happening at my house. I have too many kids running around to do that.

When I was teaching quilting, I was asked this question often. My reply was: "If you were given a painting by Michaelangelo or Monet, would you refuse it because it was mostly blue and your living room was mostly green?" A quilt is an original masterpiece just the way a painting by Michaelangelo and Monet is a masterpiece. So I feel a match is not necessary. Belles
