I find that my fabric will often tell me who should have the quilt even before I start to cut. I have been making some pinwheel blocks from when I first started actually piecing, (early this year) I started to make a quilt from them for one of my daughters, but it just did not let me go there. Today I was on my big front porch and looked at the swing that has an old blanket on it. guess where the finished product will now go. :-D :-D :-D :-D

I started making a turning twenty a few years ago for myself. Half way thru it started saying it was for my daughter. When it was finished I took it to show my DH. He said that quilt looks like Kelli. She got it for her birthday that year and LOVED it.

If they don't tell me before I start , they usually do by the time I am done.

Mine often tell me who should get them if I'm not already making it for someone. Certain colors or patterns just seem to go with certain people.

I was giving my 2 daughters some old quilts that their grandmother made. Yes, I went by the color/design as to who got which one.

I started making a quilt for my son, as I was doing it I knew it would never go to him. It did not fit him, I have to try another that has his personality.
