Then measure carefully so that you are not ending on a corner or with the same two strips together at the end. You may have to fudge a little at the end but it will look very nice with your quilt.
That is actually what I thought about doing, I just can't seem to make myself get in there and do it....it's just too heavy for one thing, and too big and bulky for another thing. But at least it's just a quilt I did to practice my quilting on, so it's not waiting on someone to claim it, yet.

I too love doing my bindings...means that the quilt is finally done...means I get the "final stitch"!!!

I must be one of the crazy people who love to do binding. I love the hand sewing. I need to have something for my hands to do when I am watching TV. There is nothing as thrilling as seeing a perfect square corner on the quilt. I have finally gotten to the point where over 90% of my corners come out great. Machine sewn bindings are OK but I much prefer the hand sewn for my quilts.

I'm with the "crazy" ones who like the binding part. I don't mind the hand sewing and I like the feeling that a project is almost done.

Binding isn't my most favorite part of quilting but it does mean that the quilt is on it's way to being a finished quilt. I count the corners as I go around them, each corner sewn is one closer to finishing. I've pieced binding many times using 18-24" strips, it really makes the quilt look nice.

Putting your heavy quilt on a big table so you can hand stitch the binding down in the back would keep it from being such a heavy job for you.

    Good Luck, May in Jersey

Another good way to enjoy putting bindings on are getting the books to listen to. I love to listen to other people reading books while I'm sewing.

I also like to bind the quilt. I don't handsew my binding or they would never get done.

I no longer hate binding since finding Sharon Schambers tutorial on gluing binding. What a difference this has made for me. You can find it on youtube.
