Hi, the log cabin is a traditional block and not hard to make. I cut my strips 1/8th of an inch bigger and of course square each finished block. The 1/8" gives me a little extra for mistakes. Once the blocks are put together the border will pull it together. No quilt is perfect. I only know of one creator that makes no mistakes. Enjoy quilting and love what you create.

I think we've all been there at one time or another. I don't curse very much but I do get royally frusrated at times. A good number of my half-finished quilt tops have ended up in the wastebasket. I should have "unsewed" them and re-used the fabric, but by that time I was hating the fabric as much as I hated the quilt top.

I don't know anyone who can sew a perfect quilt and I think the challenge of completing a top with relatively few mistakes is one of the most fun and/or satisfying aspects of the quilting process.

Please don't quit quilting altogether. Put yours away for awhile but look at every quilting book and magazine you can get your hands on, and chances are your urge to quilt will be back again.

My husband used to say he couldn't figure out why I enjoyed sewing so much when so much bad language was coming from my mouth .

I've never done a log cabin (yet), but I do swear over my projects, regardless of what I'm working on. Sometimes words get made up...

I know the log cabin is said to be easy but I had more trouble with that quilt then any I've made so join the club.
