I always tell people that's how I wanted it. With so many patterns and techniques out there no one will know if it is not perfect. In my eyes the only way I can tell a beginner is if the blocks have puckers or do not lay flat. Even then some fabrics just won't lay flat. Take a break it will be okay. Don't give up. It is all a learning experience.

No, would just be a waste of words and wouldn't correct anything. I just start ripping to make it right.

I never curse. I am so unable to curse, it is a family joke. I have other creative ways to vent my frustration however. i.e.
I cut up bad blocks in a wonky way and make a crazy quilt. SO THERE!

Just start another project and work on both projects when you get itred of one. I always have several quilts that I work on at the same time.

Before I retired, I used my quilting as an outlet. I was like you; wanted to hurry up and get it done. After I decided to slow down and make my quilting "MY TIME", it was fun. Quilting is not a hurry up process. Don't worry about your mistakes. Take your time and enjoy your time alone. My moto is:

    Forgive your imperfections,
    accept your faults, and laugh.

Oh,my. I haven't made a log cabin, but every other quilt I have made has been off at some point or I've had to scrunch some places and stretch others. Each and every one has been oooohed and ahhhed over by anyone in my world who's opinion I really care about. If you have to, take a break and return to it later. Good luck, it will be beautiful when you are done. I know that for sure.

My favorite quilt is a paper pieced log cabin. Everything comes out PERFECT! I have made large quilts, baby quilts table runners, table toppers and place mats with paper pieced log cabin squares.

I am retired and a caregiver for my 84 yr.old Mother Plus DH with problems also retired... i go in my sewingroom and close the door.. 75% of the time I don't get bothered.. It is my getaway at home!! Buuuutt when i make the same stupied, simple mistake more thatn 2 times in a row.. i have been know to vent to myself using bad words.. I am a semi Perfectionest.. I have learned SLOW!!!!! is the best word and advise for piecing to get the Quarter inch right. My Machine has a very slow speed, I love it, I use it and i come away happy.. I am doing some Advanced machine piecing. Had to set all sewing and quilting aside until I get my yard work done.. Monday is my Day  :-D

I can't say I have a potty mouth, but I do get disappointed with myself when things don't line up - which I have to say is every patchwork quilt I have ever done. Even though I use a 1/4" seam foot and make sure my cuts are right I still have problems. Slowing down helps me the most. I use to be a hurry hurry get it done type person, but now I am slower, partly do to age, and it does help. Putting some relaxing music on also has helped me calm down with my speed. I can adjust the speed on my machine now and I use to change the setting so I couldn't go real fast.

Hope you have a better day today.
