I am good at picking out the fabrics and love doing this!!! I find selecting pattern and doing the actual quilting daunting lol Maybe after you pick a pattern you can find a "buddy" to help pick your fabric!!! There have been many times while I am in JoAnns just to get one or two pieces that I run into someone like you that has problems matching fabrics so there I am helping them - wish one day I could see finished projects though lol

Usually, I love picking out fabrics. The frustrating part comes when I can picture what I want in my mind, but can't find a tangible fabric to buy. At least now there are so many online places to buy, but then how do you match those with what's in your stash? Unless it's a blender or you have that line, you're taking a big chance it doesn't go with it.

I do take my time but overal I like it. I agree on maybe takign some one along. At the LQS here the owner often helps clients. I have gone along with friends that had a harder time but liked my choices. so maybe a buddy would work for you or like some one mentioned kits?

Oh not for me, that's one of the best parts! My most difficult part is having enough money!

It takes me a really long time to choose and sometimes it's overwhelming with ALL the options, but I love shopping for fabrics!

I love to pick out fabric. I buy what I like whether I have a project in mind or not. Mostly because certain fabric will not be there in another 6 months or a year. Can't have to much fabric!!

No problems unless I can't find enough co ordinates. Problem usually is I find enough for two or three.

I could spend all day picking out fabric because I love it! Start with a focus fabric, that is something you really like, than start building from that, take the bolts, put them around the focus fabric and build from there, try it. This works for me. I wish I live closer, I would love to go with you. Have fun

I have no problem liking a fabric and putting it in the cart for "someday I'll use this", but when it comes to choosing fabrics for a particular project, I have a difficult time getting the colors to go together to my liking.
