Im new here, new to quilting. I am in awe everytime I snoop thru the forum. Each one of you is so incredibly talented. I can't imagine your feeling threatened or fear of messing up and ruining your favorite cut. Have confidence, your thoughts and ideas, how you put your craft to work is amazing!

My problem seems to be that fabrics I didn't know I liked that much, became favorites after I had used them in a quilt. Something about how once they mingled with the other fabrics in the quilt made me realize that I loved them. Oops too late, now they are in the quilt being given away, instead of my stash.

YES! I admit it. This is why I have LOTS of fabric in my sewing room. I wonder if there is some kind of counseling for my reluctance to cut the little beauties...

For years I have just added to my batisk collection, just couldn't seem to cut them up but I've been a lot better in the past year. I've decided I WILL use them in my quilts..then they won't be in a cabinet in the dark...instead they will be in a pretty quilt on a bed. Makes more sense to me.

Here is the fabric that I just couldn't bear to cut, so I just treated it as a whole-cloth.

Last week I pulled out my Christmas fabric and looked and looked at my patterns, trying to get the right feel as to what to use the fabric for.I almost put it back in my closet for another year but didn't. I made placemats and table topper and am on the second set, I am very pleased with how they turned out and happy I finally cut that cloth!I am finding myself not wanting to use my fabric more and more. I think I am not being to smart. This is why we buy fabric and why companies make it.This keeps the economy going,at least this is what I tell my husband!

Yes, and more than a few. But am working on finding patterns that will work with them, so that I may enjoy them in this lifetime! :)

I'm getting over it. I figure that I have another 25 years to live and I want to enjoy SEEING the fabric either on the wall or on the bed. That's getting me to those now.
