Does anyone else sew barefoot?

I am almost always barefoot. I hate shoes. Winter I wear slippers or socks. I can't sew with shoes on. There is something about it. It doesn't feel right and I just can't do it. Weirder is that your SIL thought it was 'weird' to begin with. I think it's normal! :)

I have a question? If you sew in your shoes how do you find and feel the foot pedal?
I always sew in socks or barefoot I can't even stand slippers.
I took a adult ed class and walked barefoot the whole time. and took a class with Freddy Maran a great gal and I think the whole class was barefoot.

And to think I wondered about the question! My mother would always say "Where are your slippers?" I was brought up wearing slippers in the house & nothing has changed since. I still wear slippers & now I ask my grandchildren where their slippers are. (They don't have any. My daughter gave up wearing shoes or slippers in the house when she left home.) Drives me nuts to see anyone walking around barefoot or with just socks on.

I never wear shoes in the house! I even pull them off when I go to my moms house. Being from the South, it's cooler. Even when I play the organ at church, I kick my shoes off...I can't feel the pedals with shoes on! Now, when I lived in Wisconsin, I'd wear socks over my hose to church, just 'cause I'd take my shoes off to play the organ. Everybody called me the barefoot hillbilly, but it was in a loving, cheerful way. Why, I'm barefoot now!

I too wear flipflops in the summer but take my shoes off to sew. I learned to sew on a Featherweight, one with one of those foot pedals that has the little unit to push down? You have to tilt your foot to use it. I just always did it barefooted. Now, I have a nice Janome 11000 but I still sew barefooted. Even in the winter, I wear slides or slip-ons so I can slip them off and sew with my socks on. There are a lot of us aren't there?! It's good to know we are not alone! Tee Hee Hee.

Barefoot too. Work days, it's one of the first things off. When I'm home sometimes I wear slippers but they come off when I sit down. Have another pair of slipon flip flops to go in the garage or outside.
