I HATE SHOES!!! Very high arches, AAAA narrow heels. Shoes never fit me anyway, so why bother! I am a barefoot girl, no matter what the season...nearly 50 years old and my mother still hollers at me for going outside in the winter barefooted...funny, I have yet to "catch my death" of anything! Tried to sew with shoes on...got so distracted by it that I forgot what I was doing! BOOOO to shoes!

I have always sewn either barefoot or with my socks on (in winter). It is a good thing too because one day I was sewing along and my foot on the foot peddle felt a little warmer than the other. It kept getting hotter and hotter...my foot peddle was overheating! Thank goodness I didn't have my shoes on and caught it before it started a fire as it was shorting out. Whew!

I always do. We don't wear shoes in the house here in Hawaii. 8-)

I have short legs and some of my chairs are too high to comfortably reach the pedal without my shoes. I can still feel the control just fine. A friend from guild dropped her rotary cutter on her foot and had to have surgery to repair tendons.

I am always barefoot or have socks on in my house. I have a little dog that panics whenever I put on shoes or even touch my purse because he knows I am leaving. I don't even think I could sew with my shoes on. If I had my way I'd even drive barefooted. Whenever I go over some of my friends I ask if I can take off my shoes.

This is so enlightening to me! I thought I was the only one who never wore shoes! I love the feel of clean, bare floors on my feet (and they don't stay clean if you wear shoes in the house). I seem to have a better "feel" for my pedal if I am barefoot (or in the winter, sockfoot). Quilters seem to have quite a few little things like this in common. No wonder we instantly bond in the fabric department!

Being country bred gal, I love going barefoot in the house. I do sew with slippers on sometimes, but I love going barefoot. I, too, have foot problems and find it difficult to find shoes that are kind to me "tiny" 8 1/2 size feet.
