Being country bred gal, I love going barefoot in the house. I do sew with slippers on sometimes, but I love going barefoot. I, too, have foot problems and find it difficult to find shoes that are kind to me "tiny" 8 1/2 size feet.

To smagruder: you mentioned your tiny '8 1/2' size shoe. I am a women with a size 14. So yours is tiny to me.

Boy, do I agree with you. My feet hurt from shoes (barefoot when sewing, barefoot when sitting on the couch, etc, etc. Now, about that bra thing; love the braless 60's.
    Good thoughts to free-feeling

Yes!!! I too have a habit of sewing with no shoes on! I thought I was the only one! I found that when I sew, the foot pedal slides out from under me, so I got in the habit of kicking off at least my right shoe and sometimes unawaringly walk around the house while sewing, with one shoe on and one off! lol!
It's kinda like people who sew with pins sticking out of their shirt or a measuring tape around their necks. We're not crazy, we're real seamstresses! lol!

I am enjoying the responses of this thread. I feel so vindicated. I have to laugh because my laptop sits on top of one of my treadle machines and I sit at it barefoot while I absentmindedly work the treadle (with the belt off of course) I intent to share this thread with my DSL and hope to have a good laugh over it.

"It's kinda like people who sew with pins sticking out of their shirt" You mean we aren't suppose to use our 'chest' for a pin cushion? Now you tell me!!! I have more than I need and it's the only place to put pins so I won't lose them!
