Does anyone ever have trouble getting around to a quilt?

When that happens to me, I just leave the quilt hanging. I look at it each day and all of a sudden an idea comes to mind and then I am on a roll. I have been known to leave it hanging and work on 1 or 2 other quilts before I actually get the inspiration. Don't rush it, let it happen.

I don't know why. It has nothing to do with working, either. I don't work, have a beautiful sewing room and still don't have the oomph to go in and work on my quilts. I have 7 quilts I haven't finished. Go figure.

I've been like that too, lately. I have a table topper that I'm making for my daughter. All that is left to do is finish the FMQ, which is about half done, and the binding. I've been putting it off and don't know why. Part of me wants to start something new. So part of my procrastination has been perpetuated by purchasing more fabric for other projects, designing a new pattern for a soon-to-be born new grandson, etc. etc.
I guess when you figure out the why, if you share the reason, it might help me understand my own delay in finishing!
