    always remember to thread the machine with the pressure foot up, that will allow the upper thread to engage in the upper tension. Excess thread in the bobbin area quite often means there is no tension on upper thread. You can check upper thread by (after threading machine) lowering the presser foot and making sure there is tension on upper thread.

    Yes there are a couple yahoo groups for futura owners, I joined one because I was researching the machine.
