I use photo apps and the Numbers app on my iPad. I only have the basic wi-fi iPad but it works fine for storing images and files etc for seeing on the road. It does not matter if I am in range of a wi-fi system as long as they are stored in pdf etc. I love my iPad.
Head to ITunes and explore the extensive apps available. Just do a search for apps .

What about printing out patterns?
I just bought a Kindle Fire and dont know what all I can do with it.
So far Im disapointed about the price of books. I can get used books thru Abes Books much cheaper than downloading prices. Ive got to be frugal about everything except quilting as its addictive and cant help myself.

Pixil of Ink and Power Reads both have free books to download to Kindle. The free books are not by known writers and are not full length books but they are good reads.
Its the price of regular books that are so expensive to download.
As for the library, you have to ask the librarian for a code to download from the library. I dont remember what it is called but they should know.
