happy happy birthday.....i think you have a good start to your stash!!!...i think a stash is anything material that you have that is not being used in a current project, there fore it can be one piece of fabric, or 15 bins of fabric....we have a friend in our quilting bee who insists she is not going to have a stash, but guess what, she finished a project and could not throw away the scraps that were left.......she now has a stast!!!!!!!..........again happy birthday!! gina

I'm quilty of having a stash of material myself, for someday when I have more time. I use up what I can for gifts for the grandchildren or other loved ones. Every year my sister will send her extra home with me when I go up north in Michigan and visit with her. I agree that this website is a wonderful inspiration to use up what "stash" we value. Happy Birthday. What a wonderful thing to look forward to - retirement and quilting. It is, indeed a wonderful place in life.

You sound just like me. I started a stash about two years before I retired. I didn't have time to do quilting before I retired, and now that is what I live for and outside gardening. Just now trying to learn FMQ, don't think I well ever get as good as some of the ones I have seen here.

Retirement is THEE single most wonderful time. As I said in another post, it is sheer contentment and joy and I sew for hours every single day but Sunday, when I take out 1/2 of the day for church. You will wonder how you ever waited :)....and the "discretionary funds" the government still gives us for now is great for building stash. Better use it while we can, huh?

Will need help with some BRIGHT colors I brought. Will post when I can get a picture.
Today I turned 64. Can't wait until next year when I retire to devote time to quilting. Will continue to buy fabric for next year.
Love the quilting board. I am learning so much.
Happy Birthday to you. Hope you have a great day. And I also hope that this year goes by fast so that you can start quilting.
