Since the quilt is all about dark and light contrasts, I would have a narrow border of the lightest color, a thin line of black and an outer border of the gray you have in all the blocks.

We had to use it in each block. thanks ladies.
I'm thinking a Yellow, like maybe one of those Hexie flowers. Red is another eye popper.

Very nice quilt blocks. I like it as it is, but it is your quilt. Adding a bright color may make it pop. Try some color with it and chose what you like best.

I would not add a new color that is not already in the blocks. I do think it needs a border -- do you have enough of one of your darkest fabrics?

Depends on the look you are wanting. Lay a few splashes on it and see what happens

I would like red or maybe a bright teal as others have suggested. Perhaps a narrow sashing between each block?

I think just a thin flange border in either red, teal, or yellow and then a black border.

I like it as is. No border necessary. I would bind it in black. I think any color will take away from the focus fabric. Great job!

If you like color, you can add any color at all with the neutral scheme you have. Maybe a thin border of 1 1/2" of any color you like (before your big border) and then that same color for the stitching.

It is very pretty as it is if you are happy with it. Some of the most stunning quilts in grays and black and white have a pop of color. Teal, hot pink, lime green, red and even orange are beautiful. Audition sa few colors and the answer will come to you.
