I have an opportunity to buy the Sapphire 850 but I can't determine whether or not it has the auto scissors and the presser foot that lifts when you tap the foot pedal (so you don't have to take your hands off of the fabric for turning, etc). If you own this machine can you get back to me to let me know? The one that I'm looking at is about 50 miles away and I don't want to travel all that way to look at it only to find out it doesn't have those features. The owner doesn't know if the machine has them or not. Thanks so much for your help.

I'm pretty sure the 850 has the auto lift presser foot. My friend has the sapphire but I don't know which one specifically. I know hers has the auto lift foot. Not sure about the cutting feature though. For some reason, I don't think so but can't say for sure.

According to the chart thimblebug posted, it does not have the automatic thread cutter.

My 830 has auto lift when in needle down. But no thread cutter.
