If mine starts skipping stitches I use sewers aid. I got very flustrated with my BSR one day and finally tried it. I had tried everything else I could think of to try. I put about three lines of it on the thread and also on the bobbin
thread. It has so far fixed the problem. The sewers aid is a thread conditioner I had bought years ago when having the problem a machine. Joanns has it in the notions section.

Has your BSR been updated recently? Take it to your dealer and ask for the update, that could be the problem.

I have a BSR Bernina and do not use the BSR part. I just drop those feed dogs and but on my open toe foot and go. It works great. Just don't use the "BSR" part. I know that 's what you and I paid for but didn't like it either!

The BSR sets the stitch length "automatically"...I'd guess about 1.5. Anyhoo, I managed to finish the quilt, have printed off all the different messages regarding the spring & updates and am taking it to the shop tomorrow. It hasn't always done this....only does it about 15 minutes into quilting...I think it needs to be checked for updates and a stronger spring. Been doing this over a year with the BSR with no trouble before now.

finished my quilt & am taking it to the shop tomorrow with the info regarding the spring. I think they need to give it a once over although I had it in last fall for a "tune up". Never had this problem using the BSR before so I feel it must be something...did I mention if I restart my machine the BSR works fine for about 15 minutes and then starts skipping stitches? lol...it's been a challenge that's for sure. oh well.... :D
