Was just searching for help on my machine looping on bottom. Read about using dollar bill to clean, how do you do that. I've never heard of that tec. My problem was coats & clarke thread. Replaced with el cheapo thread from dollar store, no more loops. Note to self go to store & get decent thread. Of course the coats was on sale & I bought 5 of them.

You just "floss" the dollar bill between the tension disks. Supposedly the oil in the bill helps grab any lint, and the paper doesn't create any lint, so it cleans them up well.

That would work. I just use dental floss.

Great tip, however I'd have to use a fiver as here in Canada the ones are a coin - a loonie, as is the two dollar coin - a toonie. The five dollar bill is the smallest I've got.
