    I usually use steam. And the spray bottle does work better on the fabric than on the cats. My cats think the spray bottle is a game to play! LOL

    I'm with Katier825, steam iron if straight seams but steam may distort bias so I use dry for bias.

    I don't use steam until the block is completed. Then give it a good steam press. I've found when using cheap fabric, steaming as I go has caused shrinkage. this doesn't happen on good quality fabric.

    I use a dry iron and a little spray from the water bottle if needed. Then when I see all is good with my seams I will put a little spray starch on the block. The only time I use the steam iron is to strech a block if it is just a little short. Works for me most of the time. Also agree that the surface you are ironing on is very important.
