Now that I want to make one I can't remember what it is called and where to get a pattern....It hangs over the edge of your sewing table, under your sewing machine....and has a number of pockets for rulers, seam rippers etc.....and would love a pattern for a snipet bag to go along side....then I am also going to make a nice cover for my sewing machine so everything matches.....My christmas present to my machine for being such a good girl this year.....

I typed machine organizer into the forum search and came up with a few hits. Here's a link someone posted http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...ail/Pocket_Pal

they are called sewing machine organizers or caddies. there are several simplicity or mccalls patterns have that have patterns for sewing machine organizers. some examples are simplicty 3776 or 2679. buy the patterns when they go on sale for $.99 for a better valuable. if you are really creative, you can design your own, it is basically a quilted mat with pockets.

try this tipnut link. tipnut.com carries lots of free patterns for just about everything you want to make. there are patterns for machine covers & thread catchers. good luck.

Last year I did a "sewing accessories swap" where we made a sewing machine cover, the machine apron, pin cushion/thread catcher and whatever tuck ins we wanted. here is what my partner sent me - i love it and use it. She does such amazing fun stuff.

This is what I sent to my partner - I don't have as much talent/imagination as she does!
