I am bad about taking my camera on vacation and never taking it out of the case so I figure my quilts will be the same.

Happens often. I think we just get excited about the gifting.

Ask the giftee to take a picture for you because you forgot. Most often, it will be a better picture than you would have taken as they will be in it, so your pleasure is doubled.

I have done that so many times. I keep thinking that when I visit my daughters I'll take pictures of the quilts I've sent them. I'm usually having so much fun that I completely forget (until I get home). Maybe next time ...

"Too many times I have finished up a quilt, thrown it in the washer and dryer and pulled it out to run out the door to give the quilt and forgotten to take pictures!!! Do many of you do that????
Last week I sent out 6 Quilts for Kids quilts, 3 from their kits and 3 from my stash and I forgot to take pictures of them!
I gave a baby quilt to my therapist for his new baby and I forgot to take a picture.
I made a quilt for a friend that had a double mastectomy and I forgot to take a picture of the quilt!!!
    Sometimes I can't believe myself!!!!!"

Been there, done that. That's what happens to quilters like us who finish our quilts just before we give them to others.

I do sometimes but I ask the recipient to please send me a photo and then I scan it for my records. They are all too happy to oblige even better if they send me one with the baby wrapped in it.

I'm guilty of this too! Made a quilt (second one ever) for my sister's 30th and received help with it on this board. Then I gave it to her and she loved it. I did too, and really regret not getting a photo. Maybe it if go to visit her again (she lives a long way off), I will write myself a note to take a photo of it.

I have chased down the quilt to get the pic. A few charity quilts were sent out before I could get the pic.

I made a throw for my daughter and forgot to take a picture of it. I asked her to take one and email it to me and I am still waiting for it.
