Double diamond (braided looking)bookmark
I was looking through my sewing room and came across the Double Diamond ruler by Bright Quilting Notions. I have lost the instructions and want to use the smaller ruler for making bookmarks. Can anyone out there refresh my memory😍

Back in 2012 Kayl59 posted some pics on our Quilting Board of bookmarks she made. Maybe this will give you some ideas in making yours. I've never seen that ruler before. It makes a very pretty finish. Thanks for posting that question otherwise I would have never heard of that ruler.

I have that ruler set and while I like the way they look, I am a little disappointed the edges are just raw/cut. Has anyone had experience with how that lasts? Does it fray? I haven't done much with the ruler because of concerns around fraying.
Would fray-checking the edges stop it from fraying?

The raw edges hold up quite well because of the fusible web and the fact that they're cut on the bias. Even when laundered there's a minimal amount of fuzziness, especially if you use good quality fabrics. High thread count batiks and quilt-store quality cottons are perfect for making double diamond bookmarks, especially if you have scraps that measure 3"x8".

These are beautiful, but to Gemrm's question is there some reason the edges could not be bound with a very thin binding?? Could be a bit tedious to be sure but it would certainly eliminate any chance of fraying???
