So here is something I totally forgot I had. It is a circle stitcher. I have Vikings, don't know if they are available for any others. But how cool is this?!?!
grann, I have that circle stitcher on order for my new viking sapphire..I seen it and loved it lol...Did you use the double needle with the circle stitcher in these pics?
Yes, I did. I got it several years ago at a seminar I attended at the Viking Dealer. Never used it. I get excited to get these things and then I forget about them. Just a word of caution when you use it, keep your finger on the arm going onto the tack, because sometimes it pops up off the tack. The wider set needle you use the more effect you get.

Just check your back. You might not like the thread zig zagging back and forth. K

Yea the look is interesting but I think you would have to have the right quilt pattern to make it look good and not take away from the quilt.

When I took a class from John Flynn recently he showed a quilt where he used a double needle. It was a 2 color (blue and white) quilt entirely quilted diagonally.Maybe they were all half square triangle blocks - cant remember. He put white thread in one side and blue in the other and used the smallest double needle there is. Using the narrow needle eliminated the "railroad track" effect on the back which can be ugly. So when he sewed across the blue blocks you only saw the white thread and when he sewed across the white blocks you only saw the blue thread. It was a very clever techmique.
