I have the Marti Michel set of plexi templates so everthing is cut with a rotary cutter and you mark match points.

The easiest way to make it is using the Rings that Bind pattern book by Cheryl Phillips. It takes a LOT more fabric to make it but it's faster, easier and no quilting when you get done. I made a pillow top to see how easy it was and it's EASY. http://www.phillipsfiberart.com/

I made a double wedding ring, using Elenor Burns method, that worked great for me, she uses a light weight fusible interfacing , you sew your pieces tog, then lay the fusible stuff on top, and sew on the outside edge, then turn it inside out , then applique it to your square, it works great.

Ok, maybe I am a glutton for punishment. I am cutting out by hand each and every piece of material for my DWR. I made my own templates from the book by Emilie Richards "Wedding Ring" patterns. Haven't started sewing them together yet, so will see how it turns out. Still have pieces to cut.

I used the "RINGS THAT BIND" book and template - I made my avatar with it and 4 other wall hangings. It was too easy. You quilt as you go and before you attach the rings to the center piece you can quilt in the center (I did my center (interior square by hand), then when you sew everything by machine it is also quilted in the seams, etc. I love it - Just waiting to for extra money to buy fabric to make a queen size. If I can do this anyone can do this... lol

I too used John Flynn's method and made my daughter a king size quilt and that was the second quilt I ever made. It was so easy to use. You strip quilt first, then are taking darts to make the curve. You don't have a lot of pieces to cut. Best wishes.
