    Default drawing paper for quilting?

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but after seeing the folks with EQ, making up drawings/patterns in their program, I was wondering if there was a dumber version for those that can't afford EQ? Do they make graph/drawing paper for drawing your own quilt patterns?

I got my copy of EQ5 for $25.00 that was new and never used. There are a few of us that prefer the older version. I have never used it but there is another program by EQ called QUILT Design Wizard. There is a new unused version for auction on eBay. Check out the system requirements to see if it works for your computer. My favorite tools for quilting is a rotary cutter, mat and acrylic rulers, but then right behind is EQ5. So much you can do instantly.

You can buy graph paper at any office supply store. You can also print it free from several internet sites.

Here is a link to one of many free sites that will allow you to print graph paper.

I've used graph paper for years....didn't have a computer at home cuz i spent 8-10 hours a day on the computer at work and couldn't bear the thought. Now that i have my office/computer at home, and although i've seen some of the great things ladies on the Board do with the quilt programs....i think i'll still sit at my kitchen table with my graph paper.

I love EQ because I really need to see the colors on the whole thing to know if I like it, and EQ does that fast!

I use 1/4" graph paper to draft most of my blocks. I buy pads at Walmart for about $1.00. They sell other sizes, but you want the 1/4" size. The 1/4" is the size of the boxes printed on the paper.

I haven't mastered the graph paper process yet but will use it at times. Mostly I use EQ5 because I've had it for a number of years. Don't plan to upgrade. So if you find a deal on a usable copy of it, go for it. But graph paper works just peachy. Just takes me lots longer at this point. And I'm not really any good with EQ!

I know you can find some older versions of EQ still. Not sure if I am correct but remember which computer version you have. Not sure my old version will work on my newer Microsoft 8 laptop. I've been told no ... but ...

I've never tried EQ... don't know anyone personally that has one. But I'm happy with my graph paper..... the quilts in my mind can be put down on paper without turning a computer on.
