    Default Dresden plate

I have just finished sewing the wedges together - the circle does not lay flat. I used 16 wedges - 8-1/2" tall. Instead of making points this pattern calls for leaving it flat at the top - like a wheel.

Lots of starch and press is what I would try first.

Try this.....immediately after pressing when still warm, place a heavy book or a square ruler (if you have one) on top and leave it until block is cool.

I've found that when I DON'T press anything until all of the pieces are sewn together, I have less warping. And for me, it's usually the center of the Dresden that is too full. So sometimes I have to go back and re-sew some of the seams at the center end.

turn it upside down and pinch, then sew, the seams a tiny bit, one at a time, until it lie flat. When done, rip out the original seams, and press. Good Luck. Be patient. It will be fine.
