You can always buy Bag Balm at feed stores such as Blue Seal Feeds here in Maine..any place where there are farm supplies.
It does work good if you can get past the smell. I used put it on thickly at night..put on cotton gloves and jump into bed. The next morning your hands look and feel much much better.

I use Super Glue too on those nasty cracks..it's the only thing that really helps with the pain. And it really does help with the healing, short of having stitches it really does the best job. If I have a really deep crack I put a couple of coats on it, I actually push the crack back together until it dries so it is really like stitches. Sounds crazy but it works!

This is by far the best hand treatment we have ever used!!! My husband is a farmer and he and I have both used a lot of different hand creams..including different udder creams. I purchased the O'Keefe's after reading the earlier posting on this forum. We were both amazed at how quickly it worked and how it is not greasy at all. The directions suggest using at night...it will heal dry cracked hands very quickly....I can't say enough!!! So, glad I learned about it here. We have suggested it to many friends. Found it at our local Lowe's.

I use Mary Kay pink stuff too, it works wonders on my hands, elbows and heels. Another one that is cheap but works wonders is Queen Helene cocoa butter creme, I find it at my local Dollar General

I use the super glue when my fingers crack. Bag Balm on my feet and hand lotion with shea butter. My DD bought me a hand lotion warmer. It is great. Makes the lotion go in deeper and last longer.

My friends and I use the lotion I take with us on Blood Drives.

Since we wash our hands so often, even with wearing of rubber gloves,
they wind up dry and cracked.

For years I've loved and used Hoof-Maker, which soaks in quickly
and softens hands fast. For really bad hands I have a small container
of Bag Balm, which is really good.

I used to teach in a small town that had mostly dairy farmers in the area. Fellow teachers swore Bag Balm was the best thing for diaper rash. I did buy some when I had kids, but I didn't and still don't care for the odor, it's a bit medicinal.
For dry winter hands and feet or anywhere on my body I use Oil of Olay Quench. It soaks right in and doesn't leave a greasy coating. For dry cracked heels you might need to reapply after every shower/bath. It usually lasts me a week before I need to coat my feet again. It's the only lotion I use .
