    Default Dumb question

The guild I recently joined is doing a secret sister which is so much fun!! Each person had to fill out a form about themselves. One of the questions is what is your least favorite fabric type/print. My SS said conversational prints. And here in lies the dumb question. What on earth is conversational prints?

    Thanks!!

You had me wondering too, so I did a google search https://www.google.com.au/search?q=c...w=1280&bih=833

Must admit they aren't really my cup of tea either

I believe they are another name for Novelty prints.

Well I learned something today. I have called these novelty prints too. I use them when I'm making something specific for a person who has that interest. For example I made mug rugs for my niece and nephew and they are runners so found fabric with running shoes. My husband is a car nut so his quilt has cars. The hunt for them can be fun. If I'm making something more in general the only way I'll use them is if the scrap is small enough you don't know what the theme is supposed to be.

I love conversation/ novelty prints! I will use them in scrap quilts but I usually save them for I Spy quilts.

I believe the term mostly applies to older fabrics. Like in the late 1800's they started coming out with prints of everyday items. I would use the term novelty for today's fabrics.

Could this term also apply to the stripes of prints which are like a comic strip?
I use these but would have to select my own,.
