Join the parade, dear, we're all around you. Or, at least we are some of the few admitting it.
And isn't sewing interesting!!!!

To prevent myself from doing this sort of thing I get a sticky note pad and as I cut each size I label it.

Sounds like a marvelous idea. Except that I would remember I wanted a cup of coffee or go to the john and lay it down somewhere and the cats would go lie flat out on it and I would not be able to find it till after I'd gone shopping again and was coming in the door and the cats would rise from their beds of already cut fabrics and demand a treat which would let me see that I had already cut the fabric but they were now covered with lovely, long white hair from my white Persian and needed cleaning and washing again and they would twist when ironed again and be off bias or whatever so I would get mad and forget what quilt I was trying to make in the first place and go out and buy one from China for forty dollars that would shred in the second washing so that's what happens when I don't attend to my sewing and forbid the cats to even visit with me on days when I am sewing except that when I do that the Persian gets all P@#%^ at me and goes and wets on the throw rug while staring right at me when she is mad.

Try forgetting what you were about to do. That happens to me all the time. I am on overload - I've been told. In fact, I've recently read directions for a quilt over and over and it made no sense to me whatsoever. In fact, I had to put it down, change what I was doing then go back to see if it made any sense then. Nope.....is there any hope?

Horsehockey! That was supposed to be a pie chart with time spent looking for stuff you just had a few minutes ago.

It's all good! Just think what you did accomplish! You cleared your mind, got a bit of fresh air, had a beautiful drive (some quiet time for yourself), you were able to add to your stash and back home to pick up where you left off! I think you did great!
