Educate me on Featherweights please
#11
Just wander over, look at everything, ask questions. Usually older folks love to talk and share their knowledge with others....make a friend. I have heard all kinds of stories of how people acquired their featherweights. I have my mothers, that my Dad bought for her before they were married. I am curretly looking at a 99K...which I hope to pick up for under $50....and then restore....These old Singer machines are just treasures and you will love it...

I have offered the following advice to a few people who were trying to get a machine at a price they could afford. Keep going back and offering the same price. If he needs to sell, eventually he'll sell it to you. But you have to keep going back. Especially if this gentleman is moving, he'll most likely be more inclined to sell cheaper than otherwise. Be persistent!! :-)
