I was watching the Ellen Degeneres Show today and she was going through some books she thought had a funny name and she showed Eleanor's book "Still Stripping after 25 years!" my daughter got all excited and said "mommy that's your sewing teacher!" Because she knows I watch her on TV and buy her books. I just loved it because it is a funny title and I love that she put it on her show!

Lol I'm a fan of both the show and the books.

The cool part was that Ellen said she thought it had something to do with quilting.

I recorded that show and almost decided not to bother watching it! Sure glad I watched over coffee this morning.

I have that book. Haven't looked at it in a while. Maybe it's time to get it out . . .

My thinking was along the same lines except I thought Eleanor, on her show, was talking about Ellen! :-)

Hmmm.... does Eleanor still have a show? So many have disappeared.

I think she has current shows because I see episodes that correspond with her current book.

Eleanor Burns has her own shows on her own website now. Wonder if we could all email Ellen and convince her to have Eleanor on the show?

I meet Eleanor a few years ago at a quilting retreat. She is so down to earth.

She was promoting the Still stripping after 25 years book and another book. She did a skit that used a guy who was acting like Bob Hope. So when I had her sign my book, I told her a story about how much my husband's grandmother hated Bob Hope. Grandma B grew up near where the Hope family lived and knew Bob back than. I guess he knew how to get under her skin and would tease her like crazy when she was a kid. He was about 10 years older than her. Whenever anyone would bring him up she would say "I hate him". She's the only person I've ever meet who didn't like Bob Hope.
