Elmer's Glue Question
Has anyone ever tried using Elmer's glue instead of fusible web for a machine applique project? I always hate the stiffness of fusibles and have not used glue much, but it seems like it should work on a project where it will be machine appliqued and quilted at the same time. Does anyone have experience or thoughts on the matter? Thanks for the help/advice.

If you enter "Elmer's Glue" in the Search or Advanced Search box in the upper right hand corner of this page, you will see lots of discussion concerning this topic.
Isn't it great finding new uses for old products? Yes, Elmer's School Glue is a great basting tool.

I use it all the time to hold down appliqué until I stitch around it. I also use it to hold needle turn appliqué. For me it works great is much cheaper than fusible web, washes out. I use both the bottle of Elmer's and the Elmer's glue stick.

i use liquid starch, Sta-Flo, straight out of the bottle... no thinning. it works great on my small Dear Jane pieces for applique. i just paint it on with a small artist brush and iron it with my clover iron
