Go to Coyotemagic's post #23 above and then click on the link. Her basting instructions are thread #51 at that link.

The tips for the glue bottles are easy to find. You don't need the metal tips that are teeny tiny, like the ones with Roxanne glue. I have used those too. But I prefer the Elmers School Glue because it is thinner. The caps I use are easier to squeeze the glue from.
The tips I use are actually the whole cap that comes with the empty bottles used for hair coloring. You can find them at beauty supply stores (ie. Sally Beauty Supply and others). As I stated in a previous post here on this thread, the bottle is clear, and the cap is black. They are inexpensive. I would think if you walked into the store and asked an employee for the hair coloring mixing bottles, you would be directed to them. The cap fits right on the Elmers School bottle.

The important part of using the school glue is not that it's Elmer's, which is just a brand name, but that it washes out. I picked up some Staples brand at back-to-school sale for one cent a bottle, and also got Elmer's washable glue sticks for 10 cents each at WalMart's back-to-school sale. I love bargains, i.e. not just cheap prices, but cheap prices for quality products!

Thanks NanaCsews for that tip. I just used the tip from an old ink pen and stuck a toothpick to keep it sealed. Your idea sounds a little easier

Is a King size big enough for you? I've only made one twin. the rest has been queen and King. It is allot faster than pinning and you darn sure don't get yourself poked either

I find if I do the edges an inch or two on the other side of the corner first, with the glue, the miter seems to fall into place much more easy and neat as I fold it in from both sides at once. Hope this helps a little. Hugs and smilesss.

When I take the time and use my glue sticks for my bindings and iron them on. My bindings look great..when you iron it flattens down the binding for its easer to stitch with the sewing machine. You also create a even binding all away around. and no fussing with binding while sewing. Its a wonderful method. I have not done the basting for an entire quilt yet. I love 505 spray for that...but I may try it on a small quilt

Where do we buy those glue tips? I looked all over Michael's today and could not find them.
