I don't use outside software. I have 3 Janome machines, 200e, 350e and 500e and have always made my quilt labels or done any needed editing right in the machine. Granted, it's harder to see what I'm doing on the 200e or 350e(the 500e has a bigger color screen that makes editing easy) but that's what practice stitch outs are for. I did it for years on the 2 smaller machines before I bought my 500e.
