My dealer has some commercial embroidery machines set up and they look really slick all those needles in the head can and do whip out a design in minutes that would take an hour to do on a home machine.
The dealer went out of business where I bought mine, a second dealer closer- also gone. I travel 130+ miles to get my machine cleaned or any maintnance done, but they are more into the Babylock. Dealers appeared about 75 miles away-not close enough to get to know or trust? I had no support close and that may be a big factor with me - don't know. I used to work at Hancock's and so many with emb machines would be so helpful with sharing knowledge, we all had different machines-Hancock's closed and I didn't get to be around my circle of sewing friends daily-I miss that! Oh, well.....:)

If you have a problem-sorry Charlie! I do and I do not plan on spending $$$ to upgrade - for that money, I would buy a Babylock instead.

I'm curious. Babylock supports 12 year old software? I don't know of any sewing machine or computer software that is 12 years old and has free technical support available.

Back when I bought V3, a wrong code was sent. I was not able to get to it until several months had passed - and at that time, all I asked for the correct code - that was probably in 2002 only 4 years from original and I still won't pay $$$ for an upgrade - just say'in.

A quote from another Bernina 180e user from Epinions.com.......:(
"Cons: price, compatability issues on earlier software, Failure of Bernina to support software forcing upgrades"
This has not been a 12 year old problem - from the beg.

Sorry you have issues with Bernina. But, I think other manufacturers do the same thing.
